To kick off the new year of Writers Connection Thursday September 19, we are honored to have Sarah Thebarge join us as our guest speaker. Sarah holds a master’s degree in medical science from Yale, and was studying journalism at Columbia when she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 27. She is a speaker and author whose writing has appeared in Christianity Today, BurnsideWriters.com, Relevant, and Storylineblog.com. Her memoir, The Invisible Girls, was published in 2013 by Jericho Books, where she shares her journey of abandonment, loss, and friendship with a Somali mom and her five children. Sarah’s story is also featured in the documentary film, A Bloom in the Sidewalk, which was released by Boulevard Studios in the summer of 2013. www.sarahthebarge.com
