Grade/school: Senior, West Linn High School

Team: Varsity basketball

Coach: Glen Lee

Highlights: “Being 7-1 in one of the top leagues in the state is a great accomplishment. Our team works together so well and I think that is something that is a great accomplishment also, because not all teams have such a great bond. Personally, my best game was against Clackamas High. I had 19 points and six steals and four assists.”

How she got started:
“I started playing youth basketball and my dad was my coach and encouraged me to keep playing.”

Coach’s advice: “Not to let each other down. We need to make good decisions outside of basketball because it reflects who you are as a person and we all individually represent the program.”

Favorite part of basketball: “The friends I have made. They are such a great support system and I can always talk to my team about anything. I trust them so much individually and know that most of these people are going to be in my life for a long time.”

Favorite meal before the big game: “Any type of pasta.”

Offseason? Softball.

Rules to live by: “Being honest and to respect each other’s differences.”

Other activities: “My team does a lot of volunteer work — we have youth camps and do community service every year. My softball team does youth camps also.”

On her iPod: “I like any music. Country is my favorite.”

Favorite book: “A Walk to Remember,” by Nicholas Sparks

What’s next? “I am going to Oregon Tech to play basketball and plan to major in dental hygiene.”
