Hometown: Tualatin
Grade/school: Senior, Tualatin High School
Team: Varsity lacrosse
Recent accomplishments: “On Tuesday, April 12, my team and I beat Tigard, our school rivals, at Tigard, 7-6. This win was so special because nobody thought that we could beat them. We were coming off a bad loss and needed a big win and there’s no bigger win than beating your rival at their house. I didn’t have an amazing game but I made the big saves when we needed them most. This was also the first time in school history that we beat Tigard, which made it even more spectacular.”
How he got started: “In seventh grade a friend of mine told me about a crazy sport in which you beat each other with sticks; naturally I wanted to play. I played my first season in eighth grade and played defense. My sophomore year I was asked to play goalie; I tried it out and fell in love with the position.”
Favorite part of sport: “Making the big stop and seeing my opponents’ disappointment.”
Favorite meal the night before the big game: “Mashita Teriyaki, after a nap.”
Off-season? “Recreational soccer, varsity racquetball, club lacrosse.”
Rules to live by: “Make life enjoyable because if you don’t then what’s the point?”
Memorable advice: “Character is not what you do on the field, but what you do when nobody is watching.”
Hobbies/interests: “I am an Oregon Youth Lacrosse Association C2 certified referee and help out with youth clinics and teams. I also enjoy backpacking, fishing, watching all major sports, playing sports in general, (nonalcoholic) piña coladas and long walks on the beach.”
On his iPod: “2pac, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Death Row, Jack Johnson.”
The one thing someone may not know about him: “I’m a gymnastics instructor at Metro Gymnastics in Tigard.”
What’s next: “I recently committed to Huntingdon College in Alabama, where I’ll be playing Division III lacrosse. I will be a part of Huntingdon’s inaugural lacrosse team. I plan on studying sports management and physical education.”
