Highlight: “The highlight of this season so far was our game against Sprague (High School in Salem), when I scored eight points and got seven rebounds. Even though we lost by six, I thought our team really came together and played hard for 32 minutes.”
How he got started: “I started playing basketball at the YMCA when I was in elementary school, and then continued to play all the way through high school.”
Coach’s advice: “Work as hard as you can every day in practice, play for your teammates, and there is more to the game than wins and losses.”
Favorite part of sport: “I love to be a part of a team that has the chemistry that we do, and to go out and compete every day.”
Favorite meal the night before the big game: “We have a team dinner every week, so the food is different every time, but it’s always great.”
Off-season? “I just play basketball all year in some kind of spring or summer league.”
Rule to live by: “Win the Day” (Oregon Ducks motto)
Hobby: “I enjoy helping out with youth basketball clinics and camps.”
On his iPod: “The Game, Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne.”
The one thing someone may not know about him: “I was cut from the classic basketball team in fifth, sixth and seventh grade, and finally made the team in eighth grade.”
What’s next? “I want to go to college someplace in Oregon.”
