For October’s Faith & Culture WRITERS CONNECTION Thursday Oct. 20 at 7 p.m., we are honored to feature award winning author Gina Ochsner! Gina is the author of the short story collection The Necessary Grace to Fall,
which received the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction and the story collection People I Wanted to Be.                                                   Both books received the Oregon Book Award. Her novel entitled The Russian Dreambook of Color and Flight is was published in 2009 by Houghton-Mifflin-Harcourt in 2009 and was given an Orange Prize nod.

In addition to her writing, Gina teaches at Seattle Pacific University’s Low-Residency MFA program as well as at Corban University.

She has been awarded a John L. Simon Guggenheim grant and a grant from the National Endowment of Arts.  Her stories have appeared in The New Yorker, Tin House, Glimmertrain and the Kenyon Review, among other publications.
