On Monday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m.

Mark Hanson and Greta Pedersen will perform for the Music in theĀ  Stacks event at the West Linn Public Library, located at 1595 Burns Street in West Linn.

Mark is a Grammy Award winner with his guitar, and Greta was National Young Audiences Arts for Learning “Artist of the Year” in 2009. Together they play and sing a wide variety of entertaining music, which includes jazz, blues, folk, and self-composed songs.

Mark and Greta have lived in West Linn since 1994, raising their daughters there. I have known them for years as our kids have grown up together in West Linn schools! They are class acts, and Mark played at my Images of America: WEST LINN book publication party (he is a featured “famous person” in the book). Both Mark and Greta have music degrees from Stanford University, and they have made their living through performing, teaching, and publishing music. Greta performs concerts and residencies in schools and libraries through Young Audiences while Mark travels as a solo guitarist, performing and conducting guitar workshops. Together Greta and Mark have performed up and down the West Coast.

Notably, they played and sang for President Obama in San Francisco in 2009.
