It is an honor to bring the Third Annual Faith & Culture Writers Conference to George Fox University community Friday-Saturday, March 7-8, 2014! I taught Public Relations at the Newberg, Oregon campus in the spring in 2008 and fell in love with the school, and my son Ryan ended up starting at the School of Engineering there in 2009. He graduated in 2013! Our opening evening session will be held at Newberg Friends Church while the Saturday session starts in Klages Dining Hall on the university campus. Breakout sessions are being held in Hoover and Stevens.
The two-day writing conference is actually sold out now. With over 30 presenters features Sarah Bessey, author of Jesus Feminist, Deira Riggs, editor of The High Calling, Tony Kriz, author and professor, Sarah Thebarge, author of The Invisible Girls, Paul Louis Metzger, theologian and author, and Randy Woodley, professor and theologian, it’s no wonder! We are offering workshops on blogging, culture-creating, fiction writing, creative non-fiction, publishing, editing, and many others. I am leading a session on freelance writing. It is such a joy to bring together dozens and dozens of diverse folks to celebrate words, the Word, story and the arts! I love to see all the connections, fellowship, spurring on, encouragement and inspiration that the event garners. From our first Faith & Culture Writers Conference in 2011, there has been a buzz about the event. The conversation, the challenging thoughts, the networking, the continued connections beyond the event! I love it!
And, I am incredibly grateful for my leadership team! Wow. Thankful-
The event is sold out now. Please get on our waiting list for our 2015 event!
