along with 35 volunteers, logged 215 hours to build an informational wooden kiosk and paving stone base at the trailhead of the McLean House grounds in West Linn.

Josh and his father, Robert, drew up construction plans for the informational kiosk and built portions of the structure at home. Scouts and parent volunteers helped with final assembly and installation of paving-stone base. The kiosk will be used as a message board for the McLean House, the West Linn Parks and Recreation Department and members of the public.

“I was extremely happy to see that all of the hard work and planning that went into this project paid off,” said the Eagle Scout candidate. “I hope that it is useful to the McLean House for many years to come.”

The entire process — from planning to final construction — took five months. Josh worked with Mike Watters, a McLean House board member, and Randy Tomsik, Josh’s Eagle mentor, and other Scout leaders. He is finalizing his application for his Eagle Court of Honor, tentatively set for June.
