and costs $ 10, if four tickets are purchased, and $ 15 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased here LIAR-LUNATIC-TICKETS . Only six shows are being presented and the first one, Friday March 15, is sold out.

“It’s poetry arranged as a play and it embodies a sort of faith journey in the form of questions and barriers to Christian faith that have all come from my own hard questions,” said Long. “Things like the disconnect between science and the supernatural, the existence of a soul, the problem of evil, the biological impossibility of a resurrection, the historical accounts of the same, the implications of quantum physics and DNA on origins, religious hypocrisy and insensitivity, as well as some mind-bending speculative wordplay regarding cosmic ultimate reality.”

God, Jesus, religion, and faith are topics covered in ways to challenge while at the same time entertain.

Long’s poetry has been performed in poetry slams across the country.

Atheists, seminary students, believers, and skeptics are among those who have been entertained by Long’s poetry slams. “An atheist in Orlando told me he that would never believe what I believe but he really enjoys my work and is challenged by the way my ideas are presented,” said Long. “I have never disappointed an audience. Ever,” he says.

By day, Long flies Boeing 777’s for a living. “I like to tell people that I’m a heavy equipment operator,” he said. “A triple seven can weigh up to 780,000 pounds at takeoff and that’s pretty heavy so I think I qualify. I was an Air Force pilot before working at a major airline.”

He is a member of the Luis Palau Association NGA and Creative Arts Alliance, the Creator and host of the Jesus Poetry Slam for CRU, and a speaker with Prison Fellowship. He is also the founding director of the Sacrificial Poet Project www.SacrificialPoetProject.com, which is a non-profit with the mission of “promoting faith conversations through the art of spoken word poetry.”

The Headswater Theater is located at 55 NE Faragut Street, in Portland.
