Jeff and Jill Brooks arrived at Hammerle Park on the Monday night after Thanksgiving to continue what has become an annual tradition — Getting their Christmas tree from West Linn Boy Scout Troop 149.

This marks the couple’s 20th year getting their tree from the local Boy Scout Troop that meets Wednesday nights at Sunset Fire Hall.
“Do I get a discount?” Jeff Brooks chuckled. “Like, after 20 trees, one should be free.”
He of course was joking and is happy to support the Boy Scouts. He was a Boy Scout growing up, and his father was an Eagle Scout.
“They’re great kids – I should say, Young Men,” Brooks said. “It’s fun to see them carry the tree to the car. That’s the entertaining part, watching them put the trees on the car.”
This year marks the 23rd year that Boy Scout Troop 149 is selling Christmas trees at Hammerle Park. The Sale continues through mid December, or until the trees run out.
Noble and Douglas Firs ranging in price from $20 to $65, and from five feet through 10 feet, are available for purchase. Wreaths will also be available.
This is the Troop’s primary fundraiser and proceeds are used for camps, awards, and other fees, as well as their ongoing giving back to the community.

Hammerle Park is located at 5915 Holmes Street and Highway 43. Hours of the Christmas Tree Sale are 5 – 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
And, they are teaming up with West Linn Troop 396 by adding the other local troop’s Christmas Tree recycling flyer to each of the trees they sell. To schedule a curb side pick up of your tree after the holiday call Jackie Wetzsteon with Troop 396 at 503-655-1656 or email at Troop396ChristmasTreePickUp@comcast.net
