Get ready to put on your dancing shoes and learn some new Zumba moves while raising funds for music at the same time.

The Mass Zumba Party begins at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 20 at Rosemont Ridge Middle School, located at 20001 Salamo Road in West Linn.

The event costs $ 5, which gets you two hours of Zumba instruction by Rosemont’s own band director extraordinaire, Ron LaGrone, a licensed Zumba instructor and director of instrumental instruments at Rosemont. He will be joined by five other Zumba instructors.

This is the second Zumba event that LaGrone has organized. The first one in June brought in $ 1,000 dollars with about 100 people. He hopes to double that number. The funds will go to the instrumental programs at Rosemont.

“Our band is bursting at the seems, it’s crazy,” LaGrone said, noting that the money goes toward operation costs for the “mass number of kids we are trying to reach.”

He says to wear athletic clothes for the event. Come for the whole time, half the time, whatever works for you.

“Or, come just drop off a donation if you want, $ 5 but you can also give more.”
