Varsity basketball

Recent accomplishments: “Our team won the Three Rivers League title and I was named to the second-team all-league team this past season.” He had his first varsity double-double Jan. 7 against West Linn in a game the Lakers won 66-57 — he scored 19 points and had 12 rebounds. Another highlight this season was the Les Schwab Invitational, where he had 16 points, eight rebounds and four steals during the Lakers’ 90-75 win over Jefferson and was named Lake Oswego’s most valuable player.

How he got started:
“Growing up I was always surrounded by basketball, whether it was going to my brother and sister’s games or going to Portland Trail Blazers‘ games. I just love the game.”

Favorite part of sport: “Seeing that time and hard work pay off.”

Favorite meal the night before the big event:
“Tortellini.”

Offseason? “I work on my game year-round and play for an AAU team during the spring and summer. During the fall, I play on my school’s football team.”

Rules to live by: “You can learn from every experience, good or bad.”

Memorable advice: “Never be content with what you have accomplished. Always strive for more!”

Hobbies: “Fishing.”

On his iPod: “Country, rap, hip-hop, R&B, a little bit of everything.”

The one thing someone may not know about him:
“I collect tickets from different sports events I’ve been to.”

What’s next:
“Continue to put in time and hard work this offseason so our team will be better prepared next year.”
