Highlights: Madison: “Winning the Pacific League Championships and State Championships. My focus is to defend, maintain possession, and set up attacking opportunities for my team.” Jill: “I was selected onto the first-team All-Pacific Conference League as a freshman, sophomore, and junior; I was selected as first-team 6A All State as a sophomore and junior. I was nominated for Gatorade Player of the year as a junior.”How they got started: Madison: “When I was 5 years old I was on my first soccer team called the Leopards. I’ve been playing ever since. I started playing on a club soccer team in fourth grade.” Jill: “I started rec in kindergarten, and I started PDP (Player Development Program) in third grade. I went on my first traveling trip in fourth grade; I flew to San Diego for the Nomads tournament. My team won!”Coach’s advice:

Madison: “Challenge yourself in games and in practice and always play with the same level of intensity. Any time spent on the field is improvement to your game and the more touches on the ball, the more skill you develop. Take risks and don’t be afraid to make a mistake, because you’ll never know what you’re capable of if you don’t try.” Jill: “Leave it all on the field.”Favorite part of sport:

Madison: “Being able to play alongside some of my best friends. I’ve been playing with some of these girls since my first club team in fourth grade. So it makes the overall experience of having happy and exciting wins along with hard loses worth it. These girls are like sisters to me.” Jill: “Celebrating with my best friends, who just happen to be my teammates, after a good goal or win!”

Favorite meal the night before the big event:

Madison: “Homemade Mac N’ Cheese.” Jill: “Steak!”

Rules to live by:

Madison: “Never do anything that you don’t love doing. Always give your best effort without the fear of making mistakes. Look forward and stay positive rather than dwelling on the negative or the past.” Jill: “Treat others how you want to be treated.”

Other interests:

Madison: “I enjoy snowboarding, water sports, painting/drawing, traveling to foreign countries, and recently joined Young Life.” Jill: “I have a strong passion for the country of Haiti; I have gone to Haiti three times for relief and volunteer work. My work there has included disaster clean up, teaching English in orphanages, serving in a community kitchen, conducting Vacation Bible School classes, and building houses and schools. I also collected 105 pairs of cleats from all around the state of Oregon and brought them to Haiti with me on my first trip to donate to the community.”

On their iPods:

Madison: “Country and Alternative. My favorite artists are Carrie Underwood, Eli Young Band, Of Monsters and Men, and Fun.”
