Sports Spotlight: Jake Biglow

Age: 18

Grade/School: Senior at Tigard High School

Team Name: Tigard Tigers

Coach: Craig Ruecker

Position: Tight End and Middle Linebacker

Highlights of season: “The highlight for me this football season would have to be the whole playoff experience. It was a time where we were fighting to play as much football as possible and it brought the team even more close. Another special time for me was our last home playoff game and that was my final game after 10 years of playing on that field and it made me really appreciate my time playing football.”

How he got started: “I always knew I was going to play football as soon as I could, which was in third grade, and I loved it.”

Coach’s advice: “To my whole team, including me, on how to be a good teammate as well as a good person.”

Favorite part of sport: “Winning football games with all my best friends.”

Favorite meal the night before the big event: “We have a team dinner every Thursday night and my favorite one was Qdoba.”

Other sports: Baseball

Rules to live by: “The most important thing is do what makes you happy and do what is right.”

Memorable advice and who said it: “Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you respond to it.” — Lou Holtz

Other hobbies, interests: “Helped with youth football and baseball camps. Also, I enjoy playing basketball and video games.”
