Random Act of Culture

Hundreds Singing Handel’s Hallelujah chorus at Macy’s for a Random Act of Culture! My friend Mary just sent me the link for this rendition of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus on You Tube — The Opera Company of Philadelphia brought together over 650 choir members  from 28 participating organizations to perform one of the Knight Foundation’s “Random Acts of Culture” at Macy’s

Knight Arts

in Center City Philadelphia on Saturday, October 30, 2010. When the Opera Company of Philadelphia Chorus began singing, the shoppers at Macy’s joined in for the most beautiful version of Handel’s watch?v=wp_RHnQ-jgUHallelujah Chorus that I have heard in a long time.

This was one of 1,000 “Random Acts of Culture” funded by the John S. and James L. Knight  Foundation over the next three years.

This brought tears to my eyes and made me look forward to Christmas even more!
