DSC_0577_8202My work

Since beginning my freelance writing career in 1996, I have written hundreds of stories for various publications. I am a regular contributor to The Oregonian newspaper where I have written about family and faith and parenting and neighborhoods and real life and everyday people doing extraordinary things. I am a community blogger for The Oregonian’s website, oregonlive.com where I post under WriterMom http://blog.oregonlive.com/writermom/about.html and the West Linn community page http://blog.oregonlive.com/westlinn/about.html

I penned the Real-Life Mom column for The Oregonian from 2005 until 2008 (featured in the Southwest Weekly section before it was consolidated into Clackamas County Weekly) and before that  WriterMom for The West Linn Tidings (Oregon) for 7 years.

And, this year my dream of writing a book was realized when Images of America: WEST LINN was released by Arcadia Publishing Publishing. I created a website/blog to document the process of penning the book which we celebrated in January 2009. Here is the link:  http://www.imagesofamericawestlinn.com/

My work has also appeared in Christian News Northwest, Portland Magazine at the University of Portland, Travel Oregon, and  Parents magazine, among other publications.

In addition to being a writer, I am an editor and an photographer as well. Please contact me for more information.

Here is a sampling of recent work that appeared in The Oregonian newspaper print edition and other publications:

My goal is to compile my collection of mom/parenting/family columns into a book later this year and I am working on my spiritual memoir about growing up German.
