Novelist Melanie Dobson and Pamela Havey Lau are guests at Thursday Feb. 16 Writers Connection

Every month, I organize a Writers Connection, and sometimes we have guest speakers. For this month’s Thursday Feb. 16 Writers Connection  meeting, we are thrilled to have Novelist Melanie Dobson  return as our guest speaker. In addition to Melanie, we have recently announced that Pamela Havey Lau  will be joining us as well. Pamela has written a book called Soul Strength:  Spiritual Courage For the Battles of Life (published by Random House), which she recently re-released. She is a frequent speaker at women’s events, such as Selah conferences, and her story is sure to inspire as well!

More info on Melanie: She is the award-winning author of nine contemporary and historical novels including most recently, Love Finds You in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. She will share her writing journey in a Question and Answer format sure to inspire you to pursue your dreams. Melanie is the former corporate publicity manager at Focus on the Family and is offering one of her books in a drawing this evening!

Additional info on Pam: During her graduate program at Colorado State University she freelanced for a local magazine and she started teaching writing at the college level in 1993. Pam’s first book is Soul Strength: Spiritual Courage for the battles of life and she is  finishing her second book, The Distance Between Us: Life Lessons that Bring Peace to our Closest Relationships.  She has also  taught writing and literature classes at George Fox University, among other venues.

All are welcome and as always, this event is free!

Writers Connection meets the Third Thursday of the month at Rolling Hills Community Church at 7 p.m. in the East Atrium. God laid it on my heart to form this group because WRITING IS A LONELY JOB! And we need to get out and fellowship and connect with others interested in putting words to paper. In short, we are there to encourage, inspire, and network published and aspiring writers of all genres in their endeavor to use their writing to make a difference to the culture.

Rolling Hills is located at 3550 SW Borland Road in  Tualatin.
