My son Augustin who is in middle school had his last cross country race yesterday and I wanted to have my older two kids, the twins, there to cheer him on. So I mentioned to them and they at first seemed lukewarm about the idea.

The surest way to a person’s heart is through his stomach, as they say.

But this is really a post about celebrating and not food.

Celebrate, friends. Big and little things. Make them a big deal. Find reasons to celebrate.

Sure, there will always be the biggies. Birthdays, Christmas, graduations, baptisms, anniversaries.

But, the small events, the ones that might get overlooked, the little big things, or the big little things. The extraordinary ordinary.

Final day of an Eagle Scout project. Celebrate.

Braces on for the first time. Celebrate.

Braces off? Celebrate.

School Conference day. Celebrate.

First day of school. Celebrate.

Last day of school, new school, transfer school. Celebrate.

Find reasons to Celebrate life. Add food for extra cheer!
