A Visit to the PEN . . . the next Rolling Hills Writing & Culture Connection Meeting

For this month’s writing and culture connection meeting, we are traveling to the Pen! -

 Writing at the PEN -

The Oregon State Pen in Salem has invited us back on Thursday Sept. 24 in the evening for its writing contest and we will use that as our September Writing & Culture Connection meeting.

We have gone the last two years [I did not go in '08] and it was an amazing experience as we shared a piece of writing outloud [about 5 min] with the inmates. It is in conjunction with Pastor Gary Strudler from Children’s Ministry.

It is a wonderful outreach…seeing how God can use the words He gives you to minister to others.

Following are the topics we can choose to write about:

TOPICS they have given us to choose from to write about-

 Faith healing Vs Conventional

  1. Felon Stigma In Society.  Can it change?
  2. Forgiveness Vs Closure
  3. The Power Of Healing
  4. Tough On Crime Vs Prevention Programs
  5. What Crime Is Unforgivable?

We do need to pre-register for the event, so be sure to  connect with me if you are interested. There is a time limit and a limited number who can participate.
